I am assuming that you mean the heat from them? If you are careful to not have them against the metal of the exhaust there should be no problems, i used my soft bags with both stock exhaust as well as aftermarket and never had a problem with heat. I also came up with a cheap way to keep the saddle bags spread for day trips. PVC pipe on the up folded rear foot pegs spanning the distance to the fairing works well to give the bags support.

I've had absolutely no problems with heat. You can check it out yourself, the plastic shroud/cover doesn't get so hot you can't lay your hands on it. RKA bags are a perfect fit as the straps are narrow enough to fit(just) between the passenger handles under the seat even. The smaller 33L ones-not the larger 40L something bags.

Did you affix the PVC in any way or just slip it over the Pegs?

Just slipped it over the pegs, i got PVC that was fairly firmly snug to the pegs and pressure fitting them on, then the pressure of the saddle bags against them holds them in place.
