How do I disconnect the rear lights and pull the cables through. I have a tail tidy that will take the stock lights. I just can't figure how to get the stock lights out?

Cheers

Nelly, take the whole mudguard off in one go. there are plug in connectors under the LH pod if my memory serves me correctly.
I fitted an FZR6 FE about 3 months back, I'll see if I can find the instructions and PM them to you

I remember taking off the lights once the whole fender was off the bike, much easier than turning your self up side down. the wires curl round lots of twists and turns. once you get them out they end up being at least 4 inches too long so just fold them over them selves and zip tie themt o the frame.
I'll have a look for the instructions and take them to work I can email a pdf direct to you if you pm your email to me.

I'll just go and se if I can find them now back in 10

take the left side pod off, and disconnect the 2 wires for the regplate light, and 2 wires for the indicators

you can then pull these out along the frame (below and next to the exhaust) and to the tail, you might be able to leave the cable ties on

you need to unscrew the light to get it off, it's pretty straight forward

at the back of the indicators is a panel, remove this and then you can pull the indicators out and install them on the tail tidy

tip: take the reg plate light wires out first, and then the indicator ones and you probably won't need to undo the cable ties

Post pics Nelly ;)

I was considering getting a tail tidy, looks very nice but with the mudgard being removed does mud and road dirt fly up over you reg plat and the back of the bike?

This seems to happen on my friends bike, and is kind of putting me off :BLAA:

there is a bit more muck that flies up but thats ok most of the time and just makes you realise how often you should wash the whole bike. I was worried at first but now I'm thiniking the look is so much better that a bit of crud to clean is not too high a price
