I bought a used headlight and was kinda pissed to find a broken tab (tower) that wasn't communicated prior. It held fine for a year without it but since I have the bike apart for winter maintenance I thought I would take care of this now.
I found these furniture connecting cap nuts at Home Depot. It's a very good fit.
I simply used a razor blade to clean up the mounting surface then epoxied this brass connecting nut to the headlight housing.
Using a 1/4-20 x 3/4" screw here which appears to be a good length, although I haven't put the bike together just yet.
I've seen guys use that epoxy putty and I know that stuff works well but is ugly as sin. I think this looks alot cleaner.
