I used 3M last year to restore my awful UV damaged headlights on my 8 year old Elantra. I could not be happier with the results. (Before and after pics were attached, but they refuse to show up.) :(
Note: I recommend only using this product when good old elbow grease and Meguire's Plastix doesn't work and only when your headlights or windshield, etc need some serious TLC due to pit-marks. This works especially well on the outer coating that is subjected to constant UV from the sun.

It took me half a day to restore both headlights. You cycle your way through 3 or 4 different grits of abrasive sandpaper using a drill and their special formula until you achieve the full clarity. Keep a battery charger handy as you need the strength of the drill to make the process easier. I recommend that the part you need to restore should be removed from the vehicle. It's just easier to work with and you don't have to worry about scratching paint, etc, by mistake.
