Here we go again.

Second practice times

1. Hamilton 1:35.055
2. Massa 1:35.206
3. Raikkonen 1:35.428
4. Button 1:36.037
5. Vettel 1:36.474
6. Trulli 1:36.493
7. Kovalainen 1:36.512
8. Kubica 1:36.671

I think the money is on Lewis. If the Ferraris keep it on the track maybe they can make a fight of it.

They (Ferrari) must first finish the race as opposed to being scatered all over the track like last time. I hope Hamilton cleans their clock.....

mclaren never far from controversy, hekki & lewis have been dropped 5 places on the grid for impeding heidfeld and alonso in Q3.

go ferrari go

It figures.

I do not like the current qualifying setup in three parts, just to silly really. I have often thought they should get a point or two for who wins qualifying which goes towards the championship.

Actually I liked qualifying as it was up until the mid 90's. They are go out at once when ever they and whoever does the best time is first in qualifying. I miss the old days of F1 with Mansell, Senna, Prost. I think that those years were the best for F1

I wish they would just allow them to qualify 1 car at a time for 2 laps and place them on the grid based on that time. The way they do it now only proves there is a problem with their current methods. Impeding, you have got to be kidding..... It's no wonder F1 drivers are trying to get into NASCAR.

Nothing like being handed the win though aye? How often do you suppose a driver could come from the 9th or 10th starting position in an F1 race and finish 1st? Better yet, how about a driver that starts dead last? I venture to say not often at all and that's one thing that bugs me about F1. For the most part these courses are so difficult to pass on winning often comes down to who screwed up first. In any event Hamilton is still #1.....

Side Note: Half the cars actually finished all 56 laps but the level of competition is so loose the difference between 1st and 2nd was 19 seconds. I wonder when the last time an F1 race was won by less than a quarter second?

I went to a Toyota day at Silverstone a few years ago. Got to drive most of the range. Went round the short circuit in a Celica and an MR2 after being show how to drive by a British Touring Car guy. Also had a sphincter closing experience with a Rally driver round a made up tarmac course. In the marquee on the day they were pushing their move into F1. They had an actual F1 car to fondle and lots of other nice bits and bobs etc.

So it is good to see them up to 4th place this time.

master class from kimi, ferrari should drop massa and invite schumacher (michael) back to mix it up with the youngsters.
shame for lewis with the pit stop, but I was disappointed by the way he was unable to pass anyone after the initial lap.
maybe it's more an issue with the current aerodynamics of the car, but getting stuck behind a slower car shouldn't hold you up for lap after lap.

edit: perhaps schumacher should forget f1 and concentrate on his bike racing

I didn't realize it until reading this post and had to go back to check things out but in 22 cars the difference in time for their respective best laps for qualifying was 2 seconds. Two seconds is flat huge, in fact it's insane when you consider the level of competition F1 is supposed to have. I wonder what the relative differences are in terms of pit stop times? Are they under 15 seconds?.
