Hi Guys,

I replaced my crankcase / alternator cover last weekend but I had some trouble getting the dowels to line up correctly. I finally got it but was wondering is there any tips on how to put the cover on easily?

The magnet kept pulling the cover in before I could properly align it a few times and it was very difficult to remove it to realign. Any tips for future reference are greatly appricaiated!

Hi:

My advice, go slow and be patient. I replaced mine after falling and scraping it up. I know what you are talking about though. The magnetic force will pull it out of your hands when you are trying to line it up and it's annoying. I don't think there is any better method besides eyeballing it then slowly move it in towards the engine with both hands.
