Didn't know the guy, but it's a Long Gut Wrenching Thread. I hope everyone has the time to read it from beginning to end.

Seattle to Argentina on a KLR650 - ADVrider

He shared the same amount of passion to ride, like many of us do and attempted something that most of us will never do.

Remember the consequences of riding. Sometimes I often wonder just before I mount my bike that this will be the day. Full riding gear and double medical & life insurance helps ensure that in the event that something does go terribly wrong, I'm covered, dead or alive.

RIP!

yeah i had come across this a while back.

very tough story indeed.

i even tracked down his posts on another forum from a link someone had posted in that ADV thread. it was a quadraplegic forum and he really talks a little bit in depth about his decision.

RIP dude. would have loved to have met you, you sounded just grand.

That's too bad. Scares the crap out of me as well... This weekend I got the bike out for the first time this season and I had a largeish (70-80lbs) black dog run halfway into my lane at me...

What a truly heartbreaking story.
After reading that I know I'll never forget what that fella went through.
