How does the FZ6 do with passengers? My fiancé likes to ride but since I bought this bike we haven't had the time to go for a ride. Just wondering if anyone has heard/experienced any good or bad things about performance and/or comfort.

I have the 07.
With Alyssa (13) full gear. Excellent passenger. Leans perfect, lets me know she is there, but not to much. 100lbs. Just a outstanding passenger. No problems
With Tiffany. (27) 140lbs. Hard work passenger. The side pods bother her legs, the seat is too hard, sometimes will lean the other way in a turn. Scary passenger. Full gear. I love her to death, but I want her to get her own bike.

Alyssa ride a dirt bike too, so I think that helps her.

I just probably set a FZ6 record as far as passenger weight the other night, I gave a friend of mine a ride from the Mandala Bay Casino to New York New York and back (about 2 miles roundabout way). He weighed 210 pounds, plus I weigh about 160 with gear. It was tough, a lot of stop and go traffic with slow turns, it was a tough balancing act.

I've rode over 100+ miles with my wife on board,on a weekend getaway, she liked it(the FZ6) way better than on my 04 sportster, she thought the riding position was more comfortable, the passenger pillion was softer, ride quality was better. she used to complain on the sporty saying her feet were numb and her back hurt. I used to have to stop every 20 or so miles,On the FZ6 we rode 80miles straight stopping only for a smoke break at the lookout on montazuma valley rd. the bike was great, there was a noticeable difference on how easy it was to pull wheelies though short shift out of 1st gear asap or you can find out if your wife trusts you!!!:D. aside from that acceleration and braking distances increase, my wife wanted me to "get after it" on one long straight we managed to hit 135mph before I shut down but it would have gone farther. all in all its a great two up bike, it is more then capable of turning a saturday ride into a weekend getaway.

My son 11, is totally new to bikes and was very nervous. Now he loves it. He has said that at higher speeds he gets vibes throuh his hand from the grab rail. As a rider the bike still feels very neutral. Cant wait for you to give it a try.

I despise riding with a passenger. It doesn't matter how pretty the girl is, it still stinks. I find that it throws off the bikes balance and makes the bike work way too hard.

:Sport:You need the single seat conversion then. No danger of anyone asking for a lift then

I took my wife out for the firt time last Saturday and she loved it. We rode for about 2 hours and she didn't have any complaints. She's about 5'7" and 130lbs so not too much to handle on the back.

However, my being ~200 lbs along with her 130 odd, it does seem to sag quite a lot at the back. Should I think about changing the preload? Maybe a new spring all together? I've considered taking it to a suspension specialist to get it adjusted. Has anyone done that ion the UK? Any recommendations?

i weigh in at 249 and the missus at 160 the bike doesnt seem to struggle, at least the tyres havent popped yet. I suppose because my balance is shot and cant ride for sh-t i dont really notice it a issue having a passanger.

The bike is fine - it doesn't seem to have any trouble hauling the weight around - it just seems very low at the back and the steering seems very light as well. Is that just normal when carrying a pillion? It was my first time as a driver as well, so I just may not realise that's what it is 'supposed' to feel like.

I've only been about 360 miles, however in the short time I've still been able to take my girl out. We did a lot of miles togeather on my last bike.

The bike was designed for passengers. Just look at the banana seat and the grab rails. My girl loves the option to just set back, grab the rails and enjoy the scenery while we putt on down the road.
However, on the freeway I have her hold onto me, unless we are in a wide open strip where there is not many cars around and such. IF I have to gun it for some reason, I have a plan worked out with her where I will tap her on the knee. This means that she had better hold onto to me quick. I tap the brakes or let off the gas for a split instant, this helps her move forward quickly and grab me, then we take off!

She is about 106lbs and a little over 5 feet. She has always loved riding with me, and will not ride on a full sports bike. We have sat on all of main ones and she does not like the 2 piece seats.
