Saw a helicopter doing loop the loops today!!!!

My commute takes me past MoD land in Hampshire and this evening I saw the most amazing sight. About 1/4 mile to my left was some nutter in an Apache helicopter trying his best to do loop the loops. He'd flying forward real fast then turn sharply upwards, he'd get vertical and then almost as he was about to go right over backwards he banked off to the right and back to horizontal. I rode slowly for 3 miles watching him do this. I considered stopping to film him but it was just a bit too far for my camera phone to get a decent video.

We did that when I was in the Army It's called a RTT Return to Target. That was a blast.

I've seen that before at Southport air show. As well as Harriers (One of BAE Systems finest aircraft I may add) hovering just over our heads, deafening to say the least.

Random info, BAE is one of our old customers, we do their offices here in the states. They like Herman Miller cubicles, AO2 series.

I worked with Harriers for 4 years in germany. When the pilots are flying sorties they don`t get out of the ****pit for refuelling or re-arming. Someone stands over the ****pit with an umbrella while it is in the hide. It looks a bit like a grand prix race. Thi is because of the adrenalin rush. Apparently if they get out they get tired very quickly. I have no idea if this is correct. I go a ride in a harrier before I left Germany, what a buzz that was. Jeremy Clarkson thought that as well when he had his ride in a fighter.
