Already bought a couple of them (poppies).... I still get all choaked up this time a year... especially when I think of the events in the summer/fall of 1940 and the Battle of Britain. How close did the Nazis get to defeating the RAF was simple scary....

Thanks Guys,

Sadly there age going to be hundreds of servicemen/women who will need help and support after the current conflict.

I looked after a 94 year old lady the other evening and we got chatting. She was a remarkable lady who was the sister (head nurse) of the "Horton" hospital where prof Archibald pioneered plastic surgery for the RAF pilots who were grossly burned.

[edit] I may have the wrong hospital. If this is the case my apologies. A remarkable woman looking after remarkable men none the less.

Two pieces read out at remberance services always bring a lump to my throat.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them

When you go home.
Tell them of us
Say for your tomorrow
We gave our today
