Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been active on here. I've been checking in but not posting much.
A lot of things have been happening in my life, so here's an update.
First, I'm a GRANDFATHER!!! My son Ryan and his wife :) had a daughter, Hannah, in September. They live in NJ, not...
OK maybe not slow, but coming from FJR and FZ1, my new to me V-Strom 1000 is very ... unfast. Heck, it would probably lose to FZ6 in a drag race, BUT.. that low end torque makes it SO much fun to ride! Cruise casually at 3k rpm (or even slightly lower), twist the throttle and the thing just...
Hey folks, looks like I'm moving away from the 2-wheel promised land of California this summer and into flatlandia.
Any of you fine upstanding folks live in the area and can help me find the local scene and any decent roads nearby? I'm going to miss my twisties.
Will be living in either...
Hi,
So I am at the point where I need to replace my tires soon and I was wondering if I should switch. In the approx 40K miles Ive put on my two FZ6s in the last 4 years (got a 2009 to replace the 2006 back in Aug) I have been running the newest model of the Michelin Pilot Roads available. 3s...
Few minutes from my lunch ride. Pretty much all of the roads around me are like this. One of the reasons I moved here :)
Oh and the ride up the driveway at the end.. FJR with sport touring tires is definitely not the best tool for the job :|

WTH!!! why was I not told how amazing this road was? Yesterday I drove the Western Half with the bike and it was AMAZING! Gorgeous views, awesome roads, moving traffic (not too bad, but you did have to give yourself plenty of space). I would say it ranks up there with some of the best roads I...
Amazon.com : Garmin 010-01232-01 Zumo 590LM : GPS & Navigation
The new Garmin has a feature that will choose the roads with the most curves in them on your way to your destination, neat!
And it's less than $900!!
A couple of weekends ago I went on a trip to Scotland with a (large) group from my work (about 40). We travelled over on the DFDS Ferry from IJmuiden to Newcastle on the Thursday evening and slept on the boat. On the Friday morning we threw our overnight bags in the bus which was our support...

QwickFlick the fine person that he is gifted me a pair of inner fairing covers from his FZ6 garage sale. I had hit some rough roads and broke the tabs off of mine so this really helped me out.
Thanks man!! and for sure I will pay this forward
Rode ~260 miles of really twisted roads this past weekend and when we stopped I noticed the front tire of the Triumph 675 had maybe used 2/3 of the tire while the back was like mine with maybe an 1/4" of chicken.
The Two FZs and the Brutale had used much more of the front tire.
Point: is the...

Myself and a friend are headed out tomorrow for a day ride, 350mi or so. Leaving the college park, md area around 9am. Will be finding smaller mountain roads and switchbacks. Either respond here or message me if you want to come along.
It's early but I've started to plan my motorcycle trip for next year already. Did Tail of the Dragon and surrounding roads last year. No motorcycle trip for me this year as I am taking the Family back to Tennessee. But I will definitely be going someplace next year. While I loved the Tail and...
Just picked up an 09 with less than 4K miles on it. I am looking forward to enjoying all of my day rides, including the trip back home.
I also have a few other bikes:
01 Yamaha Thundercat (soon to be sold off)
05 SV 650S (Love the handling, but a bit too cramped for all day riding)
07 GSXR...
Cold and crazy-windy, but we ended up having a great ride! Found a cool castle, enjoyed the surprisingly grippy roads and had a damn fine lunch too. Few pics
i want to post this video as a small thank for all the help i got in the mech. part of this site, it helped me to fix my bike and encourage me to do it my self.
Please enjoy a small ride on the swedish roads
