when i have done anything to my bike, i noticed a loss of low end power until the computer re-learns. Happened and fixed with Exhaust install, and also again with the airbox mod.
Give her a few more miles and she should straighten out.
Power commander is not a bad idea though, always...
Sorry, old thread again.... My wife works for woodcraft and has my FZ6 there today, they "Look" like they bolt right up, so if we can confirm that the internals are the same, then they will work. I might buy some and see if they fit for reals...
it just went up on its side and came back on the tires, extremely lucky, i saw the whole thing in my rear view, she was following me on the highway...
Car got deemed a total loss, so now it is time to start shopping for a new set of wheels.
one of my buddies just picked up a new FZ8, he loves it and i am waiting to take it for a rip to get some real experience on it. For now, i am still looking to the FZ1 as my next bike.
since my first "Real" bike was a thundercat, i have always looked to the next one up and i have had a special spot in my heart for the thunderace, but very rare and very cool bikes. Just another on my list that would be nice to have someday.
Enjoy it, looks like a great find!
instead of posting gruesome pictures, i will recall my thread from last year that showed my gear all rashed up and it could have been my face, head, and arms with the rash instead. not a high speed crash at all, and the pictures will show how much damage can be done at even a low speed crash...
I agree, it is fun to ride solo and enjoy the bike, but there is nothing better than having the woman you love squeezing into you on the back.
I love it when my wife wants to go 2-up instead of taking her own bike, although it is very rare
Eric, how does Michelle like those tires? I have the same on my bike and the rear is closing in on 12k miles, the damn thing will not go away, i am curious if it is normal, I like the longevity of them, but after my tumble last year i am looking into anything that i can do to avoid the same...
great idea! mine are starting to get a bit "Worn" so a new design would be great, i am not very artistic in the least, so i will leave it to the "Pros", but very interested in getting the new design when it comes out.
just made me think of when this happened to me... 2nd bike in line of a group ride, a horsefly (hurt worse than Bees IMO and they keep biting) got wedged under my helmet just below my ear on my neck.
had my wife on the back of the bike, and a bunch of bikes behind me, all any of them saw was...
pads are fairly cheap too, you can just replace them if it is really bothering you, but the solutions mentioned above for dirty or glazed pads are the same, light sanding of the surface of the pads and re install and re seat them and you should be good to go
with over 70K on the bike, probably not a bad idea to do them anyway, i am planning on doing mine as a preventive measure this year and change out my oil at the same time. Keira just did oil, so we will probably re-use her oil, but what the heck, we'll replace her seals and caps too.
Good luck!
Who can blame her, she found something HOT and wanted a ride :)
PS: Reference "Space Balls", never bothered Rick Moranis to have a helmet that was too big.
something like this happened to me a couple years ago... was riding home at the point that it was almost dark out, but not quite and a bat flew into the side of my helmet... honestly felt like someone threw a grapefruit and hit me in the helmet.
Glad that i always wear my helmet!
sounds like a good deal to me, maybe I'll buy some seals and we can head up there and you can show her how to use it ;)
Heck, 27K miles on my FZ6 too, might be time to learn how on my bike too, sounds like a decent project day so far.
Just slipped it over the pegs, i got PVC that was fairly firmly snug to the pegs and pressure fitting them on, then the pressure of the saddle bags against them holds them in place.
You are a lucky man! I sense more upgrades for my bike soon, just not sure what yet... maybe if i hit the lottery or something i will upgrade to your bike then start from there :)
