I know that asking opinions on tires on here is like asking "which oil is best?", but ignoring all that - here's what's on my mind: This summer I plan to replace the aging Bridgestone Battlaxes (front is still original) on my Fazer. While the front one still looks brand new it is nearly five...
Saw this site while ago: Yamaha Motorcycles Suppliers, Yamaha Motorcycle Exporters, Motos Yamaha, Exporters of Yamaha Motorcycle Exporters
Check out this enclosed chain & 6 volt electrical system!: http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global/area-marketing/csr/lineup/ag200/
I want to thank all of you fellow bikers out there for welcoming me here quite awhile back. Thank you for making this such a great board with such knowledgeable feedback, input, opinions and help on practically any topic. Thanks for the many hours I've spent here among friends. Thanks for the...
While I will probably get mine checked at the proper time, my local Yamaha Mechanic, (and "hero" with 18 years of experience, and works at two dealerships as well), told me this past week that he can honestly say that he has NEVER seen an FZ6 that actually needed a valve adjustment at the...
At the base of our factory-installed windshields there is an airspace, about 1/4" all the way across the bottom of the windscreen. (I know why it's there) Have any of you closed this off to see how it affects wind flow?
Just wondering....
Thanks.
Their label claims to be "fully synthetic". I bought a bottle of it for a friend's air-cooled single. Anyone using it in their Fazer?
(Side note: I see where Walmart is again carrying Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Oil!)
A mention of a great product at a reasonable price: (Please do not excommunicate me for mentioning this but)....If you have ever seen leaking fork seals caused by either dents, dings, or dried bugs that have turned into concrete like welding splatter on the bearing surface for the fork seals...
I have seen on three different sites where some folks use a SuperTech 7317 oil filter on their Fazers. (So far I have tried only Yamaha and Fram filters)
What is interesting is that the SuperTech cross reference number over to a Fram is a PH7317, NOT the Fram recommended PH6017A. Any idea what...
Today I had to take my beautifully clean 600 cc Fazer on a curvy stretch of road which has recently been "shot". (Covered with a thin layer of sticky crud and then covered with tiny little pea gravels - basically a paved road that has been rocked)
It was fascinating! The entire 4 mile ride was...
Those of you that got your bikes new and are do it yourselfers, (or you saw what came out of your bike when the dealer changed your break-in oil):
On your first oil change was it vile?
On my first oil change it seemed to have some gray matter (liquid) in it.
(I changed it the first time at...
I changed the oil in my bike for the third time since I got it new. I had been keeping Yamaha filters on it, though their $14.00+ price/filter is a little nuts IMO.
I had one more Yamaha filter, one Fram, and one Super Tech (Walmart) filter in my future arsenal. I was going to use them up in...
Are Harley Riders Getting Friendlier?
Just wondering. . . . .
I've stopped to go around and see if someone has stuck a decal across the front of my bike or on top of my helmet, but no!
Looking at a 2007 Ninja 250 R. It has 2500 miles on it. It seems to have plenty of power and sounds nice, (and quiet). Any feedback/advice from friends here? (Still haggling on price)
Admittedly, I too have always believed that a bike needs to be of bigger displacement to stand the endeavors of long touring rides. Obviously, with today's bikes/engines this simply isn't true! (Or is it?) I'm not talking about cumulative miles....I mean taking your bike on a LONG trip.
(I may...
Of those using the Walmart Super Tech oil filters, are you using the ST7317?
I'm still using the Yamaha filters but at $14.00 a pop and from what I've read on-line about the quality of the Super Tech filters at $2.00 I don't see how you can go wrong. JMO
There is so much knowledge, feedback, opinions, and humour to appreciate on this board!
I recently polled you all about my son's first bike. I was concerned about the size of his first bike and if a Fazer was too much for him. It was way cool to watch the poll: Initially the polll said that it...
Now that I'm on my seventh bike I start thinking of things like this. (Is that maturity, ["old age"], or is it because I go much further from home, much more often, and much faster? =:-O
I just signed up with MRA (mymra.com). They say they will cover your needs 100% with no charges within...
