hello again everyone, I have been enjoying this mod for a while now, and before I jump into buying a kit, I was wondering if the BD43 headlight mod would still work with an HID kit? I would of course get a low/high bulb. Anyone with any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
Actually it must depend on the pumping station, since my Uncle's garage and most others get two fuels pumped in, 87 and 92/93. 89 Octane is a mix of both to get the 89 octane. Most of the stations around here are like that. All our fuels around here are 10% Ethanol now.
What does piston...
Does this ever end really? Yamaha Engineers for one didn't tune this motorcycle to be a race bike. They tuned it to run on regular fuel and to meet very strict Euro and Cali emissions standards = LESS POWER!!! Regardless of what anyone thinks or says, motorcycle and car manufacturers need to...
He is just insane, and awesome!! Makes Robbie Knievel look like a chump. Wait, he is, he has someone do his jumps to make sure they are safe before he jumps himself.
I know my bike is loud, however it sounds a lot better without the DB killers in there, so I leave them out now. I have been followed by a couple officers, its simple, keep the rpm's low and the bike is pretty quiet. As it was said, you got these Harley's out there louder than open header race...
I just set mine to 6 after having it at 5, the difference especially with the FZ1 bars is amazing, the bike feels lighter in turns now and feels like I am leaning more than before?? I weigh around 250, will I notice a big difference going up to 7?
Has anyone tried to prove this, on the dyno that running 91, 92, or 93 octane actually drops power compared to 87 octane in these engines? Has anyone ever looked at the timing tables for the FZ6? In order to run 87 octane in a high compression engine such as these engines, the timing in...
My wife's 2003 Honda Accord V6 is designed to run on 87 octane. Running a mix of 87/89 octane we managed 25mpg cruising at 80mph on the highway. Now, running a few tank fulls of 93 through it we managed 28mpg doing the same 80mph including around town driving and multiple shots to 100+mph...
Think about it from a business prospective though, someone doesn't want a FZ6R, the next step up would be the R6S which is $1700 more than the FZ6R, or $1500 from an FZ6. I can see why they would do this, however I wish they wouldn't, the FZ6 is an awesome bike, I bought mine because it wasn't...
Wow, I don't know if mine even came with those disks and if they did I threw them out quickly. Now the one thing I just did with mine is modify the db killers. The bike was too quiet with them and too loud without them. So, I drilled a hole in the one using a sawzall, (left some taper there)...
Wow, reading these posts makes me think. The most I ever got on this bike is 44mpg and that was the very first tank full I threw in it. Now I am somewhere around 30-35mpg. Love the revs!!
I have the vortex 15T sprocket for the original 530 chain. The vortex is a very nice piece. Quality looked nice. There are some how to's on this site. Search it out and you will find them, it is pretty straight forward but would be easier if you had a friend help you, just an FYI.
I have the same issue, I started wearing earplugs now simply to protect my hearing. The bike it really loud without the db killers, but with them in its too quiet. I have the Leo Vince exhaust, so what I have done is drilled out the end of my db killers, trying to find a happy medium. I...
I can understand the thought of buying a bigger bike etc etc. But I would rather have the bike I own now make more power and go quicker/faster. Its more fun building it up on your own than just buying something. You respect it more and feel like it is truly yours.
I couldn't agree more. I removed mine since with the cat eliminator pipe its useless anyway. However easy enough to put back in if I need it for some reason.
My 2003 Accord also shares the same PL14610 PureOne filter as the FZ does. Also, the ST7317 SuperTech filters, however I read here Inside the ST7317 that there are some of these supertech filters with Made in Mexico on them and they are not as good as the Made in the USA ones. Just a heads up.
Its alot more pronouned now with the 15T sprocket, but mine does come up in first, hangs until I pull the clutch to shift, then when I hit second it pops up a very little and hangs for a moment then settles in. I weigh 250lbs also.
Those rings were probably some sort of guard against corrosion of the flex pipe. As long as you don't have an exhaust leak just cut them off and keep on going. There us nothing you can do to replace those rings IMO unless you replace the whole pipe that is connected to.
