You have the choice to use original turn signals in addition to the built in ones with the splitter cable, otherwise only the integrated ones will be triggered. Yes, this is universal for all model years.

Walked away with no injuries thankfully. The bike though is gong to need some repairs, the speedo is at a totally different angle now. Along with the mirrors, headlights, turn signals, and front farings. His insurance is covering it all so far, including a replacement of my helmet.
6 months after the MSF and getting my FZ6- and I have my first accident 3 blocks from my house. Not my fault, someone turned left when they shouldn't have, but still goes to show you ATGATT. Ride safe fam.
The cable or latch mechanism seems to be really tight when first removing my seat. I don't want to break my key jamming it forward and it will eventually unlock but the cable might have to be oiled. Would this be the same procedure as a clutch cable lube? Any better solutions?

I got the tab in and lined up not a problem. I replaced the axel in the way it was taken off. i pushed the axel all the way onto the bolt like spacers which adjust to change where the axel is. The piece in the diagram (1) seemed to position itself on the slot, so I bolted the caliper down to it...
I learned my lesson of needing a torque wrench because The smaller of the two bolts snapped that holds the caliper to piece 1 on the figure above. It's on order at the moment. No big deal though. We're talking rear brake here but front is applicable too potentially after changing the front tire...
