Magnetic sump plug, not worth the packaging it came in.

Hi guys and gals I hope you're all well? I thought I'd post to save you from possibly wasting money on a magnetic sump plug. I bought one from eBay for £7 and the magnet is so weak it won't even stick to my fridge and barely lifts a 10mm long screw! If they're all like this they're a...

Top man, received with thanks.. now the electrician in me is going be tested, as I was a bricklayer before my accident my sparky skills ain't too good but my dad did buy me a multi meter about two weeks ago, I think it'll come in very handy with this project. Weather has been awful so I haven't...

Sorry guys, I've answered my own question with a little help from Google, really should have looked there before posting here.

Re-use K&N air filter clean and add oil?

Hi again Fazerers I hope you're all well and bikes are too. I bought my FZS with 24k on the clock and no service history so I've changed the oil, filter, plugs and I've recently ordered a new air filter to add to the service. I assumed the filter would be some cheap standard thing but...

Twin headlight conversion kit wanted for 1998 FZS6

Hi Motogiro cheers for your reply. I was thinking about modifying it and as you said, one side has duel filament bulb but only one is used, You made a good point about the reflectors I'll have to take the headlamp assembly apart and see if I can even do it without the beam being all over the...

Twin headlight conversion kit wanted for 1998 FZS6

Hi everyone, As most of you with a 1998 FZS600 will know that while driving at night you can barely see anything! I've fitted a super bright bulb but it doesn't make any difference that I can notice. I'm disabled and riding with one arm so I'm extra keen to get the light sorted to make...

    24k Air Filter change.

Cheers guys, I'll get an OEM, they're around £20 and K&N start at nearly £40 so if it's not gonna make any difference I'll stick with the cheaper version. Thanks again :-)

First 'big' bike is a FZ6!! Did I get a good deal?

Looks good to me and if it's all working right you got a smashing deal, I paid £1400 for my '98 FZS6 with 24k on the clock. Looks very tidy, nice bike :-)

    24k Air Filter change.

Hi there fellow bikers, I did or thought I'd posted earlier but I can't find it so I'm guessing I didn't post it. My '98 FZS600 probably hasn't had a service in a while as the plugs were rusty and in desperate need of change so I've done the plugs, oil, oil filter and next will be the air...

    Clutch still slips..

I had a fiddle earlier and backed out 1/8th turn rather than 1/4 and it seems to have fixed it, even up hill in 1st it didn't slip. I'll have to do a few more miles to be sure but it's been fine today, it bites earlier too so the 1/8th turn has definitely made a difference :-) Cheers for all...

    Clutch still slips..

Hi guys, thanks for your replies it's appriciated.. The cable seems to be fine, there's about 10mm of play in the lever when the clutch is engaged and both ends are clean/moving freely. I'm even more confused now as I was out a few days ago and it was slipping real bad at 5k then yesterday...

    Clutch still slips..

HI guys and gals, A few weeks ago I had trouble with my clutch slipping, after reading a few posts I found how to adjust the bottom end of the FZS600 clutch and went ahead and loosened the lock nut and used a screw driver on the middle bit. I turned clockwise until I felt resistance then...

    Indicator relay position?

Yeah it looks identical just mines black with the stainless steel exhaust. Andz I'm not sure of the model code, all I know is it's a 1998 FZS600 Fazer, I've only had her 6 weeks so still lots to learn. I'll pop the side panels off tomorrow and see if I can locate it, hopefully it'll be tucked...

    Indicator relay position?

Hi, I've just changed my rear indicators to LED's and now they flash really fast and only half the LED's light up so I'm gonna scrap these and buy a set of 4 that come with a relay to slow the flash speed. I've got a 1998 FZS600 and have been reading up a bit and it says the relay is under...

    2 days, 2 BLOOMING DAYS!!

Well I got my 98 FZS6 on the road a few days ago and because of clutch slip issues I only really had 1 days use out of her. After the clutch was sorted and I thought I'd learnt the clutch/throttle balance fairly well and I'd been getting on great on this 2nd day, seemed to have the pulling...

    Me again, slipping clutch.

TownsendsFJR1300 sorry I did read about the main adjuster but I was looking on the wrong side (the side where the clutch actually is) so presumed the lower adjustment was only on the newer bikes because someone said most of you in the forum have 2004-2007 models and figured they're gonna be...

    Me again, slipping clutch.

I've just been reading about laying the bike on it's side and pulling the clutch out, will I still need to drain the oil or will laying it on it's side make it stay in? Stating to get really annoyed with it, reading one thing here and another there and it's all different advice, some say...

    Me again, slipping clutch.

Because I had to adapt it for one arm I didn't get a chance to ride it until I'd done the conversion. Oil was Silcolene super 4 10w40 as recommended by this CD "manual" I bought, more info in the daily sport! but Forums said the same 10w40. I took her out for the first time 2 days ago and she...

    Me again, slipping clutch.

Me again, slipping clutch. (solved) I didn't have a service history for my 1998 FZS600 Fazer so when I got her with 24,081 miles on the clock I changed the oil and filter, I had a few battery problems but by yesterday I had her running so I was straight out for a ride. At first I didn't...
