Very interesting. My ducati has a 520 chain that I just replaced at 14k. I'll compare longevity between the two sizes, as I ride about 12k miles a year. Both bikes had the chains rust out, even though I clean and lube them about every 500mi. Could just be user error.

Just checked mine last night. Intake was perfect, all exhaust were about 1-2 thou too tight. I'm going to determine what shims to order and then adjust them when it gets colder out. 24k on it.

I ride if it's over 35deg and dry out. Last year I was able to ride at least 2 days a month through the winter. I have a battery tender that I leave on it on longer cold stretches in my unheated garage.

I'm just over 24k on my 08, and the chain is toast. Sprockets are still good, but I'm changing everything today with a 520 x-ring chain and Vortex sprockets with +2 rear.

Fantastic road. Went last year on my Ducati, haven't gotten out yet this year on the fz. I'm in the same boat, about 2.5 hours to get to Harrisonburg.

I've got the Yamaha comfort seat and am 5 10, 180. After 450+mi days i start getting tired with it, but we do try to stop every 80-90mi to rest, which helps keep us relaxed and comfortable.
