    couple of honest questions

Another reason I do my own. Oil filters should be hand-tight. I've been putting hand-tight filters on for 15 years (cars and bikes) and never had one come loose. The only tool you should need is the socket to loosen the plug, and that should be just snug. I hate mechanics that think they...

Not sure what exhaust to get.

FWIW, the louder cans won't make much difference in cars seeing you. Lady about ran me over yesterday. She didn't hear my Nautilus horn, so I doubt super-noisy cans would matter. Ended up riding the line between lanes, between 2 SUVs. Then I remembered that the safest place to be around cars...

    couple of honest questions

For a full synthetic oil change and a premium battery change...I'd expect to pay about $300 around Southern Indiana. Full synth oil changes around here are $80+, $50-100 for a battery, $100/hr for labor (and that's almost unskilled labor and they don't do "half-hours" around here). I've...

    2008 Black FZ6 / $3200

Alright. Still sitting here. Just trying to get it moved before I have to move.

    2008 Black FZ6 / $3200

I do, actually. Besides the wife preferring a cruiser, I find that I do too. Went down and rode around on a Vulcan 900 the other day and was fairly surprised by it. Very light and easy to ride - enough power that it wasn't boring but not so much that I find myself doing over 100mph every time...

Next bike? What it would be?

I'll probably get blasted for this but... I'm going back to a Honda VTX1300. I can pick one up locally for under 4k and they'll run forever. Comfortable, low maint, fuel efficient, can haul some gear.

    FS: Stock Forks

Sorry, been out of town. Anyone still interested in the stock forks send me a PM. Clearing out old parts in preparation to move. Heck, for that matter, I might even sell the bike if I find the right price.

    Shopping for R6 forks

I bought a leaking set and replaced the seals. I fabricated a holder-tool that ended up being way more painful than just buying the $40 motion pro tool. If you don't have that tool, you can't hold the inner fork guts still while you unscrew that bolt from the bottom of the fork slider. I did...

Hands still get numb even with looser grip

+1. Made all the difference. This may sound like meat-head logic, but I noticed that I experienced less riding fatigue when I added (more) squats, deadlifts, and weighted decline situps to my workout. Abs, lower anterior, and lower posterior muscle groups - combined with good posture - made...

    Downsides to going naked?

Noticed more bugs with the naked setup because they would hit my chest and fly up into my helmet. Although you take more hits directly to the helmet - I never had any angry, crippled bees in my helmet with my fairing.

    Downsides to going naked?

I meant that I have trouble keeping it under 90mph on the interstate. It's pretty common for me to be riding to work and see three digits on the speedo. The fairing makes a huge difference above 70mph. I also agree with VegasRider about the bugs and the gear. The grasshoppers in Indiana will...

    Anyone heard of loadshedding?

The power companies here keep trying to get me to switch to a remotely controlled system that they can turn on/off at their whim. A $20 discount to randomly lose power? No thanks.

You might check with The_Paragon. There's a chance he's parting with a stock S2 fairing.

    Downsides to going naked?

I converted to naked and went back. When I commute, it's two hours per day - all highway and some interstate. It's almost all 70+mph and it's honestly just annoying trying to hold your head still. I sprung for a naked kit mostly for looks and the assumption it would be like my Honda cruiser...

    Anyone heard of loadshedding?

I'm suddenly reminded of Atlas Shrugged...again...and again...and again... . They do it here in the States too but they call it brownouts so the not-so-educated populace thinks that too many people have the A/C on.

    Vibration help

OP - if you are still getting numbness after the bar change...it may be a physical issue. I'm getting to be the king of shoulder surgery these days and I my right hand goes numb simply from not putting it down for an hour. A throttle rocker helps, as it allows you to relax your grip a bit. I...

    Looking to upgrade turn signala

Cheap ($8 shipped) flush mounts on fleabay work okay, and are visible from the front and side. The smoke ones are a bit hard to see but you can't beat the price. I had em' for a while but we parted ways when I went naked. They also fit on the naked kit, if that matters at all. They are NOT...
