FZ6 Trip - St. Louis to Avon, Colorado

Re: FZ6 Trip - St. Louis to Avon, Colorado - New Slideshow Since it will be about 10 months before I depart for my 5th adventure in the wonderful state of Colorado, I thought I would put together a slide show to help me through the dry-spell. YouTube - ‪rexbaumgartner2011's Channel‬&rlm...

FZ6 Trip - St. Louis to Avon, Colorado

That is a buddies BMW R1100S Boxercup Replica. Cool bike! For 1100cc, it isn't any faster than the FZ6, but it is likely a much more durable. He is a good rider, for a 50 year old dude!

FZ6 Trip - St. Louis to Avon, Colorado

We departed Monday morning, June 6th at 6AM. Several hours later we crossed into beautiful Colorado! When we arrived at out house (on the 7th - held up in Colby, KS), the weather was beautiful, so we just relaxed that late afternoon for some cold ones and grilled some steaks...

:stupidpc: Well, three more wake-ups and we are heading out. Gonna have fun regardless. Actually look forward to seeing more snow in the mountains than in the past. :Sport:

    The police?

I have been a policeman for 24 years, been riding for 35. I will say this for all it is worth. Cops know good and well just how carelessly motorists (cages) drive. There is an unspoken opinion about the risks we take as cyclists on the roadway. I think that a majority are sympathetic to the...

    Colorado Trip - June 6th !!!

Hey all, I am leaving St Louis with some friends on Monday, June 6th, westbound for a 6 day stay in Avon, Colorado. This will be my fourth consecutive year. What a magnificent place to ride, perhaps the best in the states! I know you guys have had some crazy weather this spring...

Who likes short shorts? (riding equipment poll)

Yea, you can see what people have had to say on a topic years ago, or you can just start a new conversation. I don't know why people object so much to someone talking about something that has been talked about already. That search method doesn't always pan out like you like...

    Coocase

Yes it is. The rack does not interfere with exhaust at all. The back half of the rack attaches to the two frame pieces that are visible when you take the seat off.

    Coocase

Sorry about that, Floppy.. I should have mentioned the rack that the Coocase is mounted to. I purchased the SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Toprack from TwistedThrottle.com as well.

    Coocase

DownRangeFuture, You know, you have just proved how valuable forums are. I never even gave than any thought!! Now that I think about it, I suspect the battery hook-up is primarily for the alarm and remote lock/unlock. Hell, it comes with a key! I don't think I would ever have a need for...

    Coocase

No, this is the V28 (28 leter) case. On their ebay store, I got it for just over a hundred bucks. It is the one with the remote/alarm. Not sure a remote is really needed though, I would rarely lock it, unless I was going to be away from the bike for an extended period of time. I'll just use...

    2006 FZ6 vs 2009 FZ6R

I purchased my 09 in Sept, 2010 for $4995.00 (plus their usual smoke and mirrors fees), $5200 out the door. Look around. Motorcycle Scan.com - Motorcycles For Sale Here is a link to a good site for searching for bikes for sale. FZ6 bikes readily available in the 4 grand range.

    Coocase

In preparation for a trip to Colorado (from St Louis), I installed a "Coocase" to aid in carrying stuff for the trip. Overall, I am very impressed with the build quality of the case and the brackets. This case is the one with the integrated brake lights, which are LED. I have not hooked...

    Colorado - Flooding????

Oh, we are coming! I figure even if we were to run into some closed roads due to flooding, working our way around them will only make the day rides more adventurous. You live in a fantastic state for motorcycle riding. Interstate 70 is even a nice ride through the mountains, whereas...

    Colorado - Flooding????

Hey peeps, this coming June 6th, some buds and I are rolling out of St Louis for an annual trip to the Rocky Mountains! CAN'T WAIT! Question: A guy I know in Utah is telling me that because of record snow this past winter, there is flooding predicted through June. WTF, is this correct...

Hey bud, fellow St Louis area guy here. Had the FZ6 since the first of October and LOVE it! I just read your trip journal to California and back. I especially noted the comment on Vail, Colorado. That area really is beautiful!!! My Brother-In-Law is John Bommarito (the car dealer) and he...

    New to the FZ6 world!

Only 34 MPG? That is nuts! I began with about 45 MPG and the last fill-up was 48! I am right about sea level in the St. Louis area.

    New to the FZ6 world!

Relatively new to this sweet ride myself! Just under 700 miles and I am getting 48 MPG; and that is spirited riding! ;) A buddy of mine that has the FZ1 and FZ6, recommended the FZ6, explaining that is was much more fun to ride. I love it! You have a great bike there, bud!

Has your bike ever hit the ground?

35 years of riding and I have NEVER dropped my bike. ;) I have been hit by an SUV (July, 2004), so if that means I dropped it, I guess I should vote "yes", but I could hardly keep it up after an SUV moving 40 MPH rammed into me!
