This isn't a quality of inline 4's , but a quality of the Fz6. My other inline 4 engine braked much more easily and I almost never used brake on the highway - just roll off the throttle. On the FZ6 I I roll off the throttle and then get a quesy feeling as the bike keeps on rolling when I...
It is indeed a great day to work when you get to ride in. My commute is 62 miles each way, and when I get to ride my bike in - I get serious miles and serious saddle time.
The problem is all the other jerks going to work at that time.
Its great though, 124 miles or so a day to work really...
Well, they are installed, as well as my fork sliders or bobbins - I bought these ones from Evotech in England.
The rear axle protectors are going to be a pain, though. Wants me to take the spindle off the bike (not exactly sure what that means) loosen the chain adjuster screws - then install...
Twins - and I had two boys before the twins (identical, girls). Looks like I lost the chance to work on my bike at all this weekend.
I'm going to look really stupid one of these days if I drop my bike with a whole flotilla of sliders - at HOME!
Funny thing is after the B-King, I'm not...
Yep, Dean I got them. I have all the bits for this round of mods. I did run in to an old thread in regard to stripping the bolt holes while installing these - did you have any issues like that?
Now, if only I could get both of my twins to sleep so I can work on the bike! Got my thread...
Hello Everyone,
I'm going to be taking a few parts off my bike and putting on a few (including the frame sliders I mentioned).
What thread locking compound does anyone use - or do you use one at all?
I used to get loc-tite, but I'm having a little difficulty locating it at Home...
Well, I don't like not having a gear indicator. I've only ridden my FZ6 a couple of times, but I can say that sometimes (compared to my previous bike) downshfting in to second gear feels like downshifting in to first gear. First gear seems only for very slow speed work.
That being said...
I get rim stripes from Tapeworks - one of the first things I get for every bike. If you are going with the black - they have black retroreflective rim stripes that would IMO - really make that look mesh together.
Of course appling rim stripes is a PITA and my wife is much better at it than I...
Lefty, I've got those sliders on the way as well as the wiring for the dual headlight mod. I've also ordered fork sliders and rear axle sliders and a tail enhancement.
In the first month of owning this bike I will have modded it more than I ever did my B-King in a year. I can't wait...
Great bike, man. What is the utility of the pod lights, how hard are they to put in?
That set up is so close to what I want to do with my FZ6.
On a thread elsewhere I had heard that heated gear on this bike wasn't a good choice because of the overall wattage of the bike. Have you...
Wow - glad to see the '06 FZ6 has lots of longevity! I bought my '06 only 1 week ago and it only had 3100 miles on it. Giving the previous owner the benefit of the doubt - we won't count 2010 at all - say it was on sale or making its way up here from wherever it was - and let's say they bought...
So, I'd like to practice painting on real FZ6 parts. I wouldn't mind anyone's scratched up parts. I can't pay much, probably just shipping unless you are in or near NJ where I might be able to pick them up.
I have absolutely no experience painting, haven't got the cash to pay for someone to...
