Just a bit of a threadjack, but wouldn't stuffing the cans so full of packing that it compresses make them denser and more reflective of sound energy than absorbent of it? Just a thought.
Coming from my opions on cars with DIY painted accents, it rarely comes out looking that good. But that's mostly due to a lack of prep work and just rattle canning the paint on there. Also, on the plastic on the back of the fairing, were you just going to paint that little part visible or are...
I have a red vfr gas tank for any fuel injected VFR. It's in the box and is just the tank, not the fuel sender or pump or gas cap. 50 bucks and it's yours, shipping extra, it's just taking up space in my spare room.
I'm in Arlington TX
Mmmmm..... inelastic demand and supply curves. Who would have thought high school micro-economics could help you on internet forums regarding motorcycles?
Yes, there is an air intake pressure sensor in the 2007+ FZ6. Or at least a wiring harness plug for one.
it's item number two in the inventory list. also, i am awful at putting conveniently sized pictures on forums.
If the bike didn't have either, then I think the only other way to tune it with is Alpha-N which is often used in cars that have been converted from a single throttle body to individual throttle bodies (like every motorcycle made).
But alpha-n doesn't really have a lot of latitude for...
I just got a set of the icon equivalent of draggin jeans a few months ago and they aren't bad or uncool at all. They actually help in the winter by taking a bit of the edge off 50˚F air temps at 75mph (I'm in Texas, therefor a winter weather weenie. 50 is as low as I go). And the summer won't be...
Changing the spedometer units does make you feel faster and that you're accelerating quicker, but it kinda loses it's appeal when you forget one day and are doing 60 kph on the freeway with people flipping you off and blowing past you at 130+ kph (as has happened to me in Dallas).
It's yellow with some kind of brown or red striping on it. Also, a word of caution to the north american owners, if you ground to your battery's negative terminal and do so by taking the ground cable off, it will reset the C1 and C2 adjustments made by the factory.
Or mine was just...
From what i've read so far, you need to press both the select AND reset buttons to go to the C0 menu, not just select. or it could be press and hold. i think select only lets you scroll through error codes, but that is a guess.
I've also managed to miss this thread. I got my red 07 a few months ago and have only put 1000 miles on it. It seems buying a new(ish) motorcycle is the modern equivalent of doing a rain dance. At least in Arlington it is.
I would think racers use it because they take the law of diminishing returns to the limit. Nitrogen may not make that big of a difference to those of us on the street or occasional track day but that last little bit of tire stability could be the difference between the podium and an also-ran...
just got my FZ6 thursday afternoon. only managed to get some safety stickers off and wire in the bd43 dual headlight mod.
and this is what i sold to get it
i still kinda miss it but it's only been two weeks so we'll see.
i paid 4800 for my 07 with 1035 miles and thought i was being thrifty. i see now in the last page alone, i have no skill for haggling, despite getting them to come down almost 1000 dollars.
