New Clutch = Whole New Bike feel!

Thanks for the tips and glad you are happy with the feel of the bike. I was wondering, in what order did you do the oil change & clutch work? Can you do the clutch stuff without draining the oil? If yes, I would recommend clutch work, engine on for a short time, then oil change. That is because...

reminder for all the gear all the time- very graphic video

Outch! Not sure how OK this guy was. The real toll of the damage and possible fractures were not apparent in these early few seconds after the fall I'm sure. I sometimes skip the riding pants and just use jeans when doing a real short trip at work due to practical reasons. But when I do I have...

    Your Oil Change Intervals

^It's gotta be different for the US deliveries, because the Euro manuals say 10k km. I have heard the theory of putting your bike to winter sleep with fresh oil before and I totally agree as far as the benefits of fresh oil and its protective additives go. But I would not want to start the...

When selling do you allow test ride??

^I guess some people may shake on it and then still keep looking despite having made a promise? I think a person with solid integrity will consider a promise and a shake to be as good as a sale. I've read that around here e.g. when fishing for real estate, verbal offers are official and tie you...

When selling do you allow test ride??

Maybe he honestly had a change of heart and was originally honest about his intent to buy. But still his excuse sounds pants and from the sellers point of view is pretty crappy treatment.

    Custom Exhaust

That looks bad ass! When I first saw the quad-pipes on a MV Agusta I thought it was quite a sight! Cool to have that on the FZ.

Excellent video about braking and following distances

Excellent video, thanks for the share. Funny thing, I was on the highway today and saw two pieces of logs, probably fallen from a vehicle, one in my lane and the other in the RH lane. Each log measured cir. 12" long and 3" thick and were very rough shaped. I was not far enough from the car in...

What safe to bikes, not comprehensible buy cagers..

^This is a typical future (if not already) body bag occupant type of riding. The accident at the end of the clip is a prime example of a car that did nothing wrong, and an idiot who was going so fast he literally came out of nowhere and could have killed a child in the backseat of a car. :shakehead:

    Ignition Switch

Sometimes (in a very different setting) the tendency will be opposite to 'wipe & insert'...:D Sorry I couldn't resist!

first time adjusting my chain: some questions/comments

^That seems like a bad idea. You may end up putting excessive stress on components like forks and head bearings while accomplishing nothing!

    Major Update!!!!!

    Buying FZ6 that's unused for 2 years.

Congratulations! The bike looks better than I expected. There's plenty of great advice above. I would also do the following: - Definitely / Replace brake fluid front & back completely and bleed the system. - Preferably / Replace the seals in the brake system. - Definitely / Check the strength of...

    Buying FZ6 that's unused for 2 years.

^That's my thought as well. Unless you can get it for a bargain and are interested in doing all the necessary work in order to make it road worthy I'd avoid it. My view would be different if it AT LEAST was kept under a protective cover all this time!

Bruised bike and pride :( (Bike tipped while stopped)

Glad you escaped more serious injury. You're right about the back. We're often too pumped with adrenaline and in fear of pride loss try too hard to 'get out' of the situation rather than take your time and take it easy.
