I went from an '08 FZ6 to a '11 Street Triple. I love the freakin' thing. Compared to the FZ6 it is lighter and has more hp and torque. The power band is so flat, and starts low in the rev range, that it makes it much more fun to ride than the Yamaha IMO. The standard street has only 2 piston...
No longer have the FZ6, bought a Street Triple back in June. I still pop in on occasion.
I just looked up some local audiologists and contacted a few. Don't have the doctor's name but he was part of Audiology and Hearing Aids in Maryland & Virginia
Trust me guys, even with stock exhaust, you...
In Maryland it's illegal to wear earplugs unless they are custom made.
Prohibited by law with the exception of: "Custom Made Earplugs" Refer to: Sectioni 21-1120 of the Maryland Code of Laws.
I got a pair for about $100 and it was the best money I ever spent. Easy to put in and take out...
Good luck with that. I bought a 2011 standard Street Triple a few months ago when I could not find an "R" within 300 miles or so. Luckily the dealer dropped $600 off the price, he had two in stock. I just installed a Penske 8983 rear shock and that really fixed the standard's weak point. It...
With my FZ6 my left knee pressed on the frame and the wide feel sort of tweaked my knee as well. The Street Triple is much better, no knee aches at all. Most likely due to how narrow the triple is.
When I first saw a Speed Triple years ago I hated those bug-eye lights. Now, I see them as...
No way. With my Street Triple I have finally gotten rid of that constant booming noise from the fairing\windscreen. Riding at 60-70mph is no big deal, much over that and things get a bit uncomfortable. The FZ6's suspension is much softer and that feels better on poor roads as compared to the...
The standard model. No one seems to have any R versions any more. The 2012 model, with the new\strange headlights should be here by Fall. I only weigh 160 and don't race so doubt the adjustable suspension and radial brakes would really be worth it. Also, the basic is usually $700 less than...
Well, my FZ6 is no more. I bought a 2011 Triumph Street Triple yesterday. 5 minutes into the test ride I was grinning and knew I wanted it. It really does everything I want in a motorcycle. Light, torquey, agile and no wind buffeting. Even riding 70mph on the interstate was much quieter...
I'm considering a Street Triple R right now. My main holdup is the super wide turning radius of the Triumph. I have a very narrow path to my backyard shed. I can get the FZ6 in with a couple of back and forth maneuvers but the STR may require a kickstand pivot.

I did the Supracor mod and, when I first tested it, things seemed much better. Frank says it takes a couple of tanks of gas for things to mold to you. Well, that is done and it feels a little less good. Still, better than stock but it, somehow, does not feel as nice as that first test. May...
Had the day off so I drove to a Triumph dealer outside of DC who would let me demo a Street Triple, the one I was most interested in. Well, it started raining just as I got there and they would not allow demos on wet roads. As it was a light rain I tried to wait it out but the Gods would not...
I've had my eye on a Street Triple for a while but am now seeing good deals on 2010 Speed Triples. Prices are lower than the Street due to the new version ST that is now hitting stores. Anyone ride one of these? Just sitting on one the ergos felt better to me than the Street but am concerned...
I've been reading the STR forums and there is a LOT of talk about failed regulator\rectifiers. The latest model has the beefed up MOSFET unit which seems much more reliable. Still, there are many more posts about problems than I find here.

Yamaha to Triumph eh? Enjoy the faulty electronics and leaking fluids! Just kidding, a bit. I've got my eye on a Street Triple R. Just wish they were as stone reliable as the FZ6.
