Thank you raja777m. I did not use those in the video, however thank you for posting, it will give anyone that wants to do this a mint alternative. And yeah those look awesome and really bright. A perfect alternative to mine. If the ones I have now ( i will confirm the brand when i get home) are...
Thanks jesse_sanders I will post some soon, Its been really crap weather here. This weekend Im going to do some work on the bike, new k&n air filter and some new upgraded bulbs, some reflective stickers as I removed the stock reflectors etc. I will take some pics then and get back to you, if not...
Awesome, thank you for the reply guys. I will install and pray I never use them. One of the welds the bar was for sure not in at all on one side when welded, but the weld looks pretty solid on the other side, so I guess it will be fine. In any case you are right Finalimpact if I hit that hard...
Ok on a second note same topic. I just unpacked my Wifes guard and its looking like the same thing. Soooo I guess its cool? I dont know much about welding so maybe a weld on one side is enough to absorb all the impact with out giving in? Id love some thoughts here.
Nope TownsendsFJR1300 there is not.
If I choose to keep them, I was thinking to fix them I would take it to the welder down the street and see if he can fill that part in, or put a bead like you say, and then I will grind it smooth again and paint it, or sandblast it and Nickel plate it at...
So I was feeling inspired and thought I would avoid spending $$$ on a fender eliminator by making my very own. Mostly free because I did pay for the parts I used but a long time ago and never used them for the intended purpose anyway....
I will start by saying, If you like this idea and want to...
So I just got my new GIVI engine guard delivered today and first impressions..... WOW....... I guess the QA guy was sick the day they made my guard?
There are 2 plates per half guard where they welded the steel tube to. (the whole thing bolts together by the headers) so all together 4 plates...
Its been some time. I was away. For anyone still looking, here is all I did. It turned out awesome in my opinion.
Here it is after welding. I took a grinder to it an then paint and trim on
Larger bolts on the fan motor.
Here it is assembled
and all together now
So after all that everything...
Im sorry it took some time to reply to you TownsendsFJR1300, Your post is well received. I wanted to take some pictures and explain why I chose to go with the extra guard on the back of the fan.
As for the Fender extender, I was considering this also and I do believe it would be a huge factor...
Thank you for the post TownsendsFJR1300, I know you have posted this before so thanks for taking the time again. In my time researching the fz6 on this site your posts have been of great help.
I think the pics you posted of this bracket are one of the only ones still up online and I have thought...
Andar. Previously I said I was planning to drill some small holes in the three brackets to hold everything together
Well in my attempt to make the mesh flush with the top of those brackets I had cut out a section of the mesh. here is a pic of the aftermath. Big hole in the middle for the back...
Thanks Andar. I am planing on drilling a small hole in the three brackets that hold the fan onto the rad and using a small nut&bolt with lots of locktight. Also I am planning to cut a small hole in the middle of the mesh and routing the wire through there. I figure this will give it a better...
Hello all.
I know this topic has been covered many times, however if there are still people buying fz6's out there like me then this might come in handy. I wanted to start a thread with solutions for the rock/fan problem that seems to burden this bike. I know a few members have shared their...
Hey all. 2 year noob rider. Just upgrading to a fz6 from a gs500. Thank to this forum and the members here i have learned a lot about my new to me fz and I'm well on my way to sorting out some issues I have found. Hopefully with all this help I can fix any "expensive" things before i get it to...
2007 Aprox 20k klm for 3800$cdn. Got it late fall/winter. Have not registered it yet so can't ride it. Anyway with the roads full of snow i think I'll wait.
However I think I got $crew3d a bit (could have paid less i mean), mostly by my enthusiasm and rushing into things.
After careful...
