New OEM Chain, Free in Boston

Yay! Like I said, the OEM box didn't look too great because I wasn't incredibly careful with it when I was going to put it, but the chain itself was brand new. Glad it got there ok, and very glad it will get used.

New OEM Chain, Free in Boston

Sorry I've been absent - was on vacation. I'll pm the good gentleman from Turkey to get his address and try to get this thing out this week. No promises - it's a busy week, but I will get it sent.

    Headlight retention clip HELP!!!

This thing is a bugger. Unscrewed mine to replace a bulb today, and it boinged off immediately, landing 5 feet away, before I could really see how it went on. I still have it, but I'll be damned if I could get it to fit back on after 30 mins of trying. I'm messing the non-screw side up somehow...

New OEM Chain, Free in Boston

EDIT: The gentleman from Turkey correctly points out my time stamp reading error - he did answer first, so the chain will go to Instanbul if it doesn't go locally. That will be a well-traveled chain.

Last chance, Massholes. Free chain here in town. Otherwise I mail it to the guy in Pennsylvania who responded first.

Gear advice for a new rider

True especially on jacket and boots. Those seams give out quick.

Gear advice for a new rider

Agreed on trying things out in person, the range in one size between manufacturers is crazy. Helmet, then Jacket and Gloves. I will say that "cheaper" helmets have come a long, long way in crash tests the last 5 years, so honestly I'm not sure I could tell you why you NEEDED to spend Shoei /...

I'm going to hold out for a local pickup, but if it comes to it, I'll check to see who answered first, you or the guy in Turkey.

New OEM Chain, Free in Boston

Heya heya. I ordered a new OEM chain from Bike Bandit just like last time, but this time when it arrived it's a sealed chain with no break, no master link. That means that to use this chain, I either order a master link and break this one to put it on, or I take off my entire swing arm. I...

If you were in the market for a superbike...

I went CBR1000. It falls in a sweet spot where it checks all the major boxes for me... - Looks are unified and toned-down, not trashy gixxer / lasers / sharks / ninjas. No Z's and X's and RRRRRRRRR's all over it, just 1 or 2 colors total, a black roundel wing logo on the tank, nice solid...

    Bits stolen

Maybe someone else in town with an FZ6 who didn't tighten their stuff down properly didn't feel like ordering from Bike Bandit...

    Bits stolen

The screws you're missing are famous for vibrating themselves loose and vanishing. See also: the bolts on the sides of your front fender. Ask me how I know, on both counts. Nobody stole your screws but your engine vibration, time, and the wind, unfortunately. Time to hit up BikeBandit.com...

    Bogging down

Giving it hell the whole time, you might hit Reserve at 150 miles, but nowhere near 100. Normally I hit it at 160 at least, or 170.

Has your bike ever hit the ground?

Had my first "moving" tip over last night. It tipped once in gravel in VT 3 years ago and did no damage, and once this summer in the grocery store parking lot onto my Shoei which cracked the side pod. Yesterday I was going home from work and found a "road closed" sign on one of my woodsey...
