I've never tried to restore a screen per se but I have polished screens and headlights and got some amazing results. You should use a proprietary plastic polish though. Xerapol is good but I've also used the Yamaha plastic polish to good effect.
Fixed it .... ghost in the machine ... must've been moisture but I used the opportunity to upgrade to bulbs. Happy days.
The new bike is a Thunderbird 1600 ... Capt. America colour scheme. Loads of chrome and then some more chrome.
Thanks guys ... am off to ferkle with the lektrik bits ... wish me luck. This mustn't take too long as I want to watch the MotoGP. Also want to ride my new bike. I haven't shown you that yet. But I will it's sweeeeeet:thumbup:
Rode home in rain yesterday ... freakin biblical sh*t ... soaked to the skin .... boots filled with water. Not pleasant.
Washed the bike over as it was covered in grit and crap. Discovered the headlight and side light are now both out. I let it dry out over night and check again.
Reckon...
Right this will have been stated many times I'm thinking but what kind of tail tidy sits well with the LV's. I've still got the original set up and want to change it. Not sure what the tail tidy connects with ... does it use the original zorst can fixing? Anyone got a pic of the install?
Take your time fitting those bad boys ... they're gonna test your metal dude. You'll have read the posts on here about them and they really are a PITA to get sorted properly. That said they'll make ya smile when you load em up with exhaust gas n let em roar;)
I've just installed my K&N filter...
I have my security pass attached to a Kevlar coiled lanyard. Got it from a dive shop. It's attached to a loop inside the breast pocket of my winter jacket. I attach it to the size adjuster (the velcro or press stud things) of my leather or fabric summer jackets and stick it in the side pocket...
Brilliant ... lifesaver that. I couldn't find a UK equivalent database with the drawings and part numbers. I was looking for 'Bracket 6' which sits below the exhaust mufflers. I'm going to buy one grind it down so the they don't touch the cans ... paint it properly and refit under my LeoVinces...
I always buy the full catalogue of R&G sliders for my bikes. Bar ends, fork protectors, frame sliders, swingarm/paddock stand bobbins.
Only thrown a bike up the road once and they saved pretty much everything except a graze on a Yoshi end can. Wouldn't be without 'em.
I did hear once that...
LV's been on for a week now .... love the sound and the performance is well improved. Not a bad little bike for £2,400 ... 2009 plate. It only had 2,000 miles on it as well. Looks like a brand new machine. Best VFM bike I've ever had.
Well so far my scoot has only 5K miles on her. She's gonna be my winter hack for a few years .... hopefully. I reckon I'll put up to 6K miles per year. So not much really. My daily commute is ~80 miles all up per day. Should last freakin' ages at that rate;)
I clean the bike...
Fingers crossed for you on Friday. Surgery .... tibia ... aaaww man I don't fancy any of that. You take care dude ... make the most of your time off. March will soon come around and you can start playing again. Speedy recovery m8.
Hi guys ... last February I bought a 2009 FZ6 S2, 2,900 miles to be my winter hack. So far it has heated grips, flyscreen, pazzo levers, R&G bar ends, frame sliders, fork protection, Pro Bolt st/st stuff all over, Leo Vince carbon cans. I ride everyday, 20,000 miles per year minimum ... have had...
