I've always wanted one, had no real good idea or reason to tho... haha. I also want to be the one to design it... tho sometimes you think too much on something? It'll never happen! Action requires more than just thinking. :spank:

Anyway... saw this image today... reminded me of this thread:

So... on the other hand, not enough thought can be just as bad?! Like that girl a while back that got a bunch of stars across her face?

I am saddened that some of the pics in the thread no longer work due to the forum crash last year :( I love tattoo artwork! Keep them coming! :D

One day , when the time is right im going to get the MetallicA 'M' done the same way James has it

I have 2 small ones for now.

One is a small celtic type knot at the base of my neck that I want to add on to. I don't want to cover it up, but it's kind of lame and I want something more/better. That one I got just because.

The second one is the Chinese character for strength
zi00016.gif
. I got it over my heart after my aunt died. It's to remind me to be strong even when things look difficult.

I've been toying with the idea of a 3rd one. It's a design that's been in my head since shortly before I turned 18, but haven't been able to get the idea out of my head and onto paper. I also haven't had the disposable income to spend on more ink, so I haven't gone to a tattoo artist yet. I don't want to waste their time drawing something that I don't have the money to pay for. That, and I'm still not 100% sure of where I want to put it.

This is how NOT to get a tattoo.....

This is a crazy, mentally unstable woman in the UK NOT ME, don't you worry about that :shakehead:

Before you berate me, I think I've also posted it before, but, it's 8:20am, I haven't had a coffee yet and I don't care :BLAA: ;)

I may have my inspiration to wear a tat til till the end of days.... my two grand daughters! But now it is coming up with a design that suits both me and them.

Now if my three kids start having MORE of their own, I could be in trouble.....

That is something that will just take time...It'll hit you one random day though. My next one will be when I have kids. Gonna get their baby foot prints on my ribs as if they were walking up my side

Just the one, got it when I was 32 (10 years ago). It's a red tribal style scorpion (I'm a Scorpio... scorpions in CA where I grew up and scorpions in TX where I live now). Had been thinking of making it a lava flow from a volcano. Been to Hawaii 3 times and flown over Kilauea once to see the flowing lava, love their style of tattoo's there too. Climbed Mt Lassen in NoCal... basically love the "ring of fire".

Been thinking of getting another one to honor my grandfather. He flew in the 445th Bombardment Group out of Tibenham, England, during WWII (same bomb group as Jimmy Stewart). Piloted King Kong, a B-24 Liberator. Also flew B-29's during the Korean War. Retired a Colonel in 1969.

Either that or my Scottish heritage. Something to do with the Clan MacLaren. My great grandfather was born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1880 and emigrated to the US, becoming a US citizen.

Leaning toward the 445th. My mom has more information. I believe she has his diary or flight book that shows which missions he flew. His last mission was the day before the Kassel Raid. He told my brother years ago, "I lost a lot of friends that day." He passed away about 8 years ago.

If I go Hawaiian style "Maka'i nui" basically is the closest I can get to (Deputy) Sheriff. Might get that on the back side of my forearm. Kind of a tribute to my dad, law enforcement in general and my current occupation. My name is Kawika in Hawaiian.

Or I won't get anything. Getting old.

I have been wanting a set of small wings to go on the upper part of my back, just below the neck line. I have always been a "free spirit" type of person.

I have Daffy Duck on my left shoulder giving the finger. Hard to tell in a photo. next one will be Duck Dodgers! For me, it is all about the Daffy attitude and crazy. Had Daffy for 10 years and don't regret it. Most times, I forget I have it.

I got a cartoon reaper , a wolf howling at moon , Taz with an AK , and a banner with few additions to it ( a silly one at time but added bits to make it better ) on arms n 1 on back saying "Never dead just stronger " ... accompanied by a couple transplant scars if that counts

I have a few, I got this one most recently a few weeks after my daughter was born last year. Apologies for picture quality.

jspansel - I like the half sleeve! I am saving that pic to help inspire my sleeve, I like the look of the tree.

I have 3 and hope to have a half sleeve in the next 6 months.

One on the top of each foot and one covering the left half of my chest. Masculine half of the ying yang on my left foot, my best friend has the feminine half on her right foot. Wanted to get a tattoo with a friend but we wanted something that wouldnt look lame by its self, or dumb like someones name.

On my right foot I have a skull and crossbones that are really unique with the cross bones. That reminds me of some crazier years and some crazy choices. A powerful reminder and many many memories of my 20s.

On my chest I have my skin and what not ripped off with my heart exposed, this was my first tattoo. I wanted something unique and just plain badass. Got a spot at a tattoo convention and a killer deal. So I scrambled to come up with an idea over the course of 3 weeks....kind of random, but I love the tat to death and would want nothing else there.

My sleeve will have 4 trees coming up my arm and making 4 sections that I will fill with various things that interest me or apply to my life and the theme in each section will be the seasons, with matching colors. IE spring with have lots of color, fall and winter will be more black and white. They trees will be in the foreground and the other stuff in each frame will be placed "farther back" to create a 3d feel and ad depth.....im so stoked to start this one, just trying to find the right artist.

Here are mine......

Im a huge nature/hippy on the inside(and out at times) :BLAA: That leaf tat is awesome......almost looked fake at first.....almost still does. The style excellent, If i can incorporate some of that into my sleeve that would be dope.

Thanks for alll the inspiration!

Tattoos and bikes are some expensive hobbies......mod my bike or my bod

I'm currently at 5. They all mean something to me. 3 of them actually match ink my wife has in some way. I'll see if I can post pictures.

My first one was a tribal swimmer that my sister got for me when I graduated with my first degree from college.

My second one was a celtic unity triad. My wife who at the time only my fiancee and I got matching ones for her 28th or 29th birthday. Mine is kelly green. Hers is purple.

My 3rd one is a sonoran indian glyph symbol that one of my favorite bands uses as their band logo. Roger Clyne And The Peacemakers or RCPM for short. I've talked about them before here and have even posted up some videos I think. If interested, you can check them out at Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers | The home of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers My wife has a matching one of this glyph as well although we didnt get them done at the same time or in the same place. I got mine done on Highway A1A in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. (A.K.A. Beach Front Ave.). She got hers done by a friend of ours here in Phoenix. Our song is a Peacemakers song called "Easy". We also had our first dance as a married couple to one of their songs named "Green And Dumb".

My 4th one was done on a beach in Tahiti during my honeymoon. It is a tahitian tribal piece that covers my upper right back and wraps around my right shoulder. It is sting ray with a lizard on each wing and a sea turtle in the center. On the turtle's shel is the tahitian symbol for man and wife. My wife has just the sea turtle with the symbols and two tahitian flowers next to it at the top middle of her back just below her neck line.

My 5th one is a work in progress. It's not done yet and in my opinion looks bad right now. I need to get it finished and I want to...but I just havent had the time. I always wanted a "geek" tattoo since I am a wee bit of a geek. So I had a buddy of mine who is a tattoo artist draw me up a design where it looks like the flesh on my arm is filleted open and held apart with like dissection pins and you can see my circuits underneath. The main part of it is done, but the coloring and shadowing isn't quite right yet and needs more work. So right now it just looks like a bad tattoo. I really just need one or two more sessions with him to get it right though.

I have a 6th one in mind and conceptualized, but I havent had it drawn up yet. And I really want to finish the one before I start another.

i helped my friend come up with the idea for his, i was his shaman during an ayahuasca experience. He saw a falcon wing with it's feather wrapped around his arm, shoulders and chest (though it probably didn't help that they were moving). He's just struggling to find a tattoo artist who understands what he wants though :S

For me I don't think I am committed enough to get a tattoo.

I just have a simple one. Chinese character for 'older brother' on the inside of my bicep/upper arm. My brother and I went at the same time and he of course got the 'younger brother' character in the same spot.

I've thought about them here and there over the years. I'll never get one though. Can't imagine choosing something that I'd want for the rest of my life. Then there's the whole 'addiction' thing. Get one, then gotta have more.
