Just got to wondering "what's in a name", more specifically, what's in a forum name.

I thought it would be fun if members explained how and why they use the 'user name' that they do on the forums. I'll start.

No huge surprise here, but "Boneman" came from my last name of Bone as well as it became a nick name I got tagged with during my airsoft/milsim days.

Even had that nick name on my gear!

..who's next?

when i was in college trying to think of an IM name (Instant messenger was just barely starting out and becoming popular) and i typed my name into one of the search engines and found a site that had versions of "Robert" in different languages. Found Riobard and though that it sounded neat so tried it... no dice, it was already taken, so i added a vowel and it has been my username ever since...

I really wish I had some sort of interesting story...but it is what it is lol
On other sites my user name is FizzerRider, but it seemed like a moot point to make that my name here:rolleyes:

Also a derivative of my last name; Lesser bacame Less in highschool and college. Carried on over the years so was an easy one to use when I stated going on forums.

I got Wildcard from an old 3DO game back in '94. My brother had bought this game called "Shockwave" and you are the rookie pilot dubbed "Wildcard". Been using it since.

I think mine is pretty cool............but then again......I would :D

have2befree (other than the obvious motorcycle connotation) means I have to be free of the rat race - financially secure. Being free is a term we use in my internet based business. I can't work at a job for the next 20 years, it will kill me.

My handle comes from the band "The Mars Volta." Tremulant is a name they coined in their lyrics, derived from the word Tremulous, and it just means a person who has the shakes. I'm no drug addict, but for years I had a vitamin deficiency that made me shake a lot. Luckily, my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) thought that it was cute. So that, plus I think it sounds pretty cool.

Well mxgolf was and is my e-mail address. I was thinking of motocross but that was taken. I tried a few variations and came up with mxgolf. The golf for of course golf. I don't know weather to chip it in or cross it up. mxgolf is my special license plate on my truck. I also have mxgolf @MSN and @JUNO and @Gmail and @ Verizon.net. If you need to get ahold of me mxgolf is the place.

I have been wondering for years, on both forums, how you would pronounce that. Mystery finally solved! :cheer:

FizzySix is just a combination of "FZ6" with "Fazer" which gets morphed into "Fizzer" by a lot of folks, so I continued that into "Fizzy"...I just thought it sounded fun/playful. I use the same one on the other forum.
