i voted mccain.. im in the army.. so .. i know we are doing good over there.
and .. a hussien sp' for president.. dont think so.

first things first NO ONE in the pentagon trusts McCain... he will never be his father... who was a great leader

second.. it's not about how good (or great ) a job you guys are doing over there, it's the fact that you shouldn't be there, you shouldn't be dieing, you are respected way to much in this nation to have your talents and courage wasted in Iraq

I put undecided because I wouldn't vote for either of them. I don't like either of them. They are only really different by a matter of degrees. Some people may disagree with that, that's ok. Here's 3 things they're similar on that I can't agree with

1) They both want to steal a considerable amount of your money
2) They will both put you in jail if you don't pay them
3) They obviously don't care about the mismanagement and pork all of the money they've stolen goes towards, they may say they do for publicity, but if it doesn't directly affect them, they don't care.

Thats all

I'm still with McCain but not as enthusiastic. His convention speech hit the nail on the head, but how much can either candidate actually deliver? I like the checks and balances of McCain in the white house with a democratic congress, if you put an inexperienced liberal socialist in the white house with a history of voting only along party lines, especially with an economy on the brink of disaster, we're in a lot of trouble and it will take a generation to correct the problem.

Blaming Republicans for the current economic situation is like blaming society when you're arrested for armed robbery. Read up on what Obama has done as a community organizer, he was ground zero and working hard to get us into this mess. He did not show any foresight, judgment or common sense on this issue, and apparently had no idea what the consequences would be for mandating (through extortion) that private banks must issue cheap credit with no money down en masse to the utterly uncreditworthy. Now according to Obama it's the Bush/McCain administration that is responsible, Bush having spoken out 17 times, dating back to his first term, that these practices had to stop or we would have a meltdown. McCain lead the charge two years ago, and the democratic congress ignored their calls for reform to Fannie and Freddie. Read this article before you try to flame me on this statement:

"Obama's gonna win... The economy sucks and the repubs are being blamed because they were in power. I have high hopes for Obama!"

The "repub's" are not in power. The Dem's control the House and Senate...

OK, so you have done all this research then I would assume you have some links handy to the actual legislation language forcing the banks to lend to bums sleeping on steam grates?

Please share it with us?

What I saw on the Daily Show, which is more credible IMO than Faux News or anything McCain says, and is at least funny, showed W saying how the legislation he signed back in 2002 or 2003 was going to be such a boom helping people with credit issues get home mortgages and live the American dream. So I suppose W caved to the all powerful LIBERALS in Congress, who were in the minority by the way!

You know it would be nice if people would stop blaming the poor for all of society's problems? I mean really, these people a totally powerless, and God forbid if you try to help them, you'll just ruin the country!

Look up the L-Curve depicting the grossly distorted distribution of wealth in this country, and see how most of us have more in common with the poor.

Seriously!

PS: I just read your referenced article and noticed one fact (otherthan the author is a neo-con) all the references were to 1995 or prior? So tell me why did'nt we have this disaster in the 90's? Why did it happen after Gramm-Leeche-Bliley and the move to less or unregulated institutions?

Yea, since Jan 07, and the Republican's have filibustered everything! The most in any session of Congress in the history of the United States! Solely, to be able to call the Democrats a "Do Nothing" Congress.

Obama - For change. I cannot deal with an extension of Bush politics for another 4 years. I support our troops but I don't support the guy who put them there and why.

I reference a New York Post article, and you reference the Daily Show?!? Really? That's where you get your news? And you provide statements without any back up whatsoever other than you heard it on the Daily Show? Seriously?

i hear ya man

But what is this "lack of trust" based upon?

Honestly, I don't trust either one as they both strike me as professional politicians -- professional story tellers (liars). But if I don't vote, then I'm liable to get more of the help-the-rich and war-mongering of the current administration. And I can't support that kind of America.

Trickle-down didn't work under Ronnie Raygun, and it's, quite obviously, not working now. And we're not Team America: World Police.

Yeah, I know that terrorism is a real threat, but how well-developed, how well-evolved, are our internal means to spot and deal with a serious terrorist front here, inside of our own borders? While we're spread so thin, fighting battles elsewhere, how well are we doing to really provide "homeland security"? Or will the millions who're displaced -- put out of work -- by our current economic crisis end up getting "work" from the government by staffing the military? Will this be the new WPA?

So are you saying that you have trust in the current administration? Seriously, just curious...

I don't trust any politician but we have to put one of them in the seat. I'll take the lessor of two evils.

I'm voting for McCain - If you really study Obama's economic plan you will learn that it is a job killing machine. Since the economy is the talk of the day, I don't understand why Obama is still leading in most of the polls. O wait, yes I do, it is a mis-informed public by the drive-by liberal media.

Not sure if I am going to vote this election. I am not a fan of Palin at all.

You have choices, you can still vote. :D

At least this way, you can have the right to b*tch about it afterward. No vote, no b*tching! :spank:

Vote for who you think will do the least damage to you and the country.
