It ca be fitted but you must perform a revalving at you'd absorber. It needs thicker oil and different settings and you will also need a new spring. The R6 spring is too soft for the Fazer.

It's not a direct swap because of the different style swingarms used on the R6 vs. the FZ6.
But it has been done, and also with R1 shocks.

Best thing would be to just g et an aftermarket shock designed for the FZ6.

Best thing would be to just get an aftermarket shock designed for the FZ6.

Specifically, the R6 and R1 use shocks with linkages, while the FZ6 features a direct mount shock. That totally changes how the shock reacts, since the linkage is basically a mechanical lever, and the R6/R1 shocks are designed to respond to that type of input.

Pictures attached to show how linkage shocks attach to the swingarm, followed by a picture of how the FZ6 shock mounts to the swingarm.

Apparently, it was both a cost issue, and a packaging issue, since the underseat FZ6 exhaust travels through the swingarm.

You could just change the spring on the R6/R1 shock and it might be okay, but most people say that the valving would be incorrect. I figure it would probably still be better than the crappy FZ6 shock. :)

Aftermarket shock options are limited and expensive.

It looks very nice.

I bought an aftermarket lowering shock from ebay recently.
It was described as direct fit and 3.5 cm lowering bike.
I'll put it on if i have time.
