Hello.

New to the forum. Pretty much new to riding, altogether!

My FZ6N I bought here in London in October. So far I am stock, apart from some [poorly applied] rim tape.

Next month, new chain and sprockets.
Following month, red braided hoses and new pads.

Not many pics just yet as the weather has been diabolical since buying it. Roll on, summer!! I am learning photography so at some point I'll get the camera out and take some decent, less 'potato' quality snaps.

Hi
I'm new to the forum. I bought the bike from Italy.
The tires looks very good but too old (2006), must be replaced. I don't know between Dunlop Q or Metzeler Z6...hmmm

Hi
I'm new to the forum. I bought the bike from Italy.
The tires looks very good but too old (2006), must be replaced. I don't know between Dunlop Q or Metzeler Z6...hmmm

I got my bikes with a few month old set of Dunlop Qualifiers, and after they
wore out (in like 6 months) I got the Z6.

Apples and oranges!

Qualifiers are very fast and agile to switch from side to side, didn't give me
much confidence but grip on good roads was amazing. They took more time
to warm up. I had to do 400 miles on them on the freeway and they were
gone.

The Z6 grips everywhere and all the time, and my riding pace (with almost
no chicken strips) on good roads still hasn't had them slide out even once.
They're wearing a LOT slower (probably by a factor of 3).

However, they're take a lot more effort to tip into corners, making the bike
feel like it's heavier, BUT, I like the feeling in the corners with them better
since they hold their line no matter what, and Q's were twichy, eager to
change direction again.

Anyways, Qualifier is a sport tire, Z6 is a sport-touring tire.
Peope say that the original Michelin Pilot Power is somewhere inbetween
these 2 and them 3 together are about as cheap as it gets for the FZ6,
at least here in EU.

I'm sticking with Z6.

Just finished my conversion last night. I'm hoping the look grows on me, I don't like it as much in person as I do in pictures right now.

Stick a belly pan on it. I've always thought the "N" either factory, or conversion, doesn't look finished until it's got a belly pan on it.

I've thought about that, but I'd also want to add small fairings along the radiator and paint the frame and engine black. In the end I settled for a blue bike with the intention of painting it and doing a nake conversion, but painting ended up being a lot more expensive than I initially anticipated.
