    Re: Your Oil Change Intervals

I ride year round and change it every 3000 miles or less. Sometimes 2000, just depends if I have a free afternoon I typically use Mobile1 4t synthetic.

Around every 2500 miles, using dino Rotella 15w-40 and Purolator Pure 1 filter..

Shifting is much better after an oil change..

    Re: Your Oil Change Intervals

I change between 5-6000km including oil filter with every change.20-50W seem to work better for me than 10-40W.
The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe.

Seems you're more concerned about water than viscosity breakdown, or contaminants (besides water)?

What happens when you get moisture in the case? I would have assumed it would turn to vapor and be forced out, but I guess not?

    Re: Your Oil Change Intervals

How about when I remember to???

I think the oil in the FZ1 is almost a year oil!!!

The R6 has two track days, or about 350 miles. It's due.

Time to buy some oil, filters and get to work.

    Re: Your Oil Change Intervals

Do we have to change the oil after 1 year?
What happens if we just ride it 2000-3000 km's per year and change the oil (fully synthetic) with two year intervals?

    Re: Your Oil Change Intervals

I change mine every 5-7000 miles in all my vehicles. It's a commuter so it doesn't sit very much. Really what happens is I notice I went 5000 miles, and I budget to get oil the next payday. I commute about 32 miles one way so the miles rack up quick.

They say to change your oil every 3000 miles or 6 months because of water intrusion. Synthetic isn't as susecptible to holding water, but it will. Really the oil will last forever, its the stuff in the oil (detergents, corrision inhibitors, etc) that wears out.

    Re: Your Oil Change Intervals

Once a year, right before I winterize her for the winter. Best to store with fresh oil inside. Mileage varies but usually under 2000 miles a year. It is a 06 and I just hit 6000 miles. Seattle's rainy season sucks by the way.
